How Payroll Works on the SARIE System
Payroll Procedures
To use the SARIE system's payroll service these steps must be followed:

Actions to be taken by an employee:
- Open a bank account with a participant bank if he/she does not have one.
- Fill a request form for payroll and earnings transfers.
- For a government agency:
- Open an account with a participant bank in the name of:
"Employees Payroll of <Agency Name> City <Agency Location>",
Also make an agreement with the bank to pay payrolls using SARIE system (according to the rules and procedures prepared by the Ministry of Finance and National Economy under Circular No. 79 dated 15/07/1419H), if they have no account yet. - The agency prepares employees payroll orders for the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, as specified in circular No. 79, and then the Ministry of Finance will complete deposit procedures.
- Prepare data sheets of employees' payroll for the agreed bank in the middle of the month including details of all employees (such as employee's name, account number, Bank's which holds employee's account, net salary due, maturity date) and send it to the bank, and such data can be sent online to speed up the data delivery process to the bank.
- Open an account with a participant bank in the name of:
- Private sector actions:
- The SARIE system provides payroll service and applies other periodic payments for the private sector as well. The private sector organizes the process with BANKS according to special agreements.
- Bank procedures:
- Add employees' payroll due payments to their local accounts on the bank and otherwise send bulk payments of employees payroll to other banks (allowing sufficient time for processing), according to the data provided with by paying agency.
- After the bank receives the payroll bulk payments, they should add payroll due payments to the agency's employees' account.

Benefits of Using SARIE in Payroll
- Speed and assurance of salary access.
- Availability to access salary and inquire on balance in the account over twenty-four hours via ATM (SPAN) deployed throughout the Kingdom, without being limited by the official working hours of banks.
- Salary can be cashed even from outside the Kingdom by using the Saudi payment network cards
- Does not require attendance nor queuing in banks to collect salary.
- Quicker and more reliable detection of errors in payment details.
- According to Ministry of Finance's instructions, using the payroll service will not add any extra charges on employees.
